
A high -level meeting, chaired on Saturday by the Minister of Electricity K. Krishhnanku, decided to carry out regular inspections and review meetings to improve electric safety. The meeting also decided to introduce measures for better responsibility in the prevention of electric accidents.
The meeting was called in connection with the electric current of thirteen -year -old Midhuna at the boys’ high school, Thevalakar, 17 July. The meeting was attended by higher officials of the State Electric Council of Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB).
The State and District Committees for averting electric accidents created through the government order in October 1995 will be convened before 15 August. All security inspections and subsequent events on electrical equipment will also be completed by August 15.
As part of this decision, the inspection will be completed this month about all electrical installations near schools, hospitals, government institutions and religious facilities. Safety check will be completed by August 15.
Special software will be presented to record details of the electric line inspections and subsequent measures.
The meeting decided to ensure that the official electrical safety committees and the alert committees were formed at local level at regular intervals.
It was also decided to strictly implement the decision of 2021 KSEBs to use covered wires in the construction of all electrical lines from now on. Furthermore, it was decided to remove all unauthorized cables drawn on electric columns.
Saturday’s meeting has also reviewed the main electric accidents reported in the last two weeks in different parts of the state.
The State Electric Council of Kerala (KSEB) issued orders to release 5 ₹ Lakh more to the Midhun family, 13 -year -old, who was electric shock to the boys of high school, Thevalakkara.
The amount represents the payment balance in ex gratia. KSEB initially gave the family 5 ₹ Lakh shortly after a fatal accident.
According to the Surraksha system in the KSEB, £ 10 lakh is the maximum ex gratium heir to the victim in the event of accidents that occur from the installations of the CSEB.
The check for the amount will be handed over next week.
