The Left Democratic Front (LDF) has consolidated its candidate for election to the district panchayat divisions in Pathanamthitta.
Of the total 17 seats, Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) will contest 10, Communist Party of India (CPI) three, Kerala Congress (M) two, while Janata Dal (S) and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) will field candidates on one seat each.
Although the RJD’s initial rejection of the seat created disagreements, the state leadership of the party held discussions with the state leadership of the CPI(M) following which the seat was allotted.
The CPI(M) will contest in Mallappally, Koipuram, Elanthur, Kulanada, Enathu, Kalanjoor, Kodumon, Pramadam, Malayalapuzha and Chittar divisions. CPI will field candidates in Aanikad, Konni and Pallikkal divisions while Kerala Congress (M) will contest in Pulikeezhu and Ranni divisions. The Kozhencherry seat has been allotted to JDS while RJD will contest from Angadi.
Aruvapulam grama panchayat president Reshma Mary Roy will seek constituency seat from Malayalapuzha division. Former district panchayat member SV Subin will contest from Mallappally division. Former Students Federation of India (SFI) president Vaishnavi Shailesh will contest from Enathu division while Sreelatha Ramesh will be the LDF candidate in Pallikkal division.
RJD Ranni constituency president Prashanth B. Molickal will enter the fray from Angadi division.
