Kerala’s cabinet approved a bill on Wednesday to order universities in the State to organize syndicates’ meetings every two months.
It is expected that the bill, which aims to change existing laws regulating State University, will be submitted during the ongoing meeting of the Assembly.
The proposed legislation will also introduce a key provision that requires that vice -chairmen to convene syndicates of within seven days if they formally demand at least one third of their members.

University, including Keral University and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, witnessed Tussles between vice -chairmen and members of the Syndicate over the request to convene meetings.
At the University of Kerala, the members of Levke -supported syndicate, they wrote a few weeks ago for the vice -chairman who loaded on the charge of Mohanan Kunnummal to trigger an urgent meeting to discuss the problem of canceling the registrar on the basis of the recent verdict of the Krala High Court. However, the vice -chairman still has to take demand.
