YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy congratulated MD Sajjan Jindal of JSW Steel for restarting the Kadapa steel plant project, calling it a major milestone for Rayalaseema’s industrial development and a moment of hope for youth and families yearning for employment and economic growth.
In a social media post hours after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched construction work on the steel plant in Kadapa district on Friday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy noted that it was during the YSRCP government that JSW was finalized as the developer of the project and laid the foundation necessary for the project to take shape.
He claimed that during this period, environmental sanitation was facilitated, water allocation, land allocation, provision of road connectivity and required land for supporting infrastructure were secured and all key approvals were done to move the project forward. With these foundations, work on the project continued at a brisk pace during the YSRCP government, he claimed.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that unfortunately during the last two years the project has stalled resulting in further delays. It was therefore encouraging to see work finally getting underway again. He observed that the people of Kadapa had waited long enough and deserved to see this important project completed without further delay.
“As my home district, Kadapa holds a special place in my heart and I have always believed that its youth deserve greater opportunities through industrial growth and sustainable employment,” he said, noting that development is a continuous process that transcends political boundaries and every government has a responsibility to build on the work already done and see projects through to completion.
