The official who issued an order for social media for teachers in North Kashmir, “without the consent of the Minister of Education”, was removed on Monday (October 6, 2025) from his position by the government of Jamm and Kashmir.
“Employees are our own and have the right to express themselves constructively. Such unilateral decisions will not be tolerated. No official or officer who found that he is working against the interests of common masses will face strict negotiations,” said J&K Sakina IToo.
Mrs. Itoo said J&K has a “elected government of people, people and people”.
“It is not just a privilege of several. The officer was attached because he issued an order that ordered teachers and employees to abandon the use of social media on their personal level,” ITOO said.
Officer, Bashir Ahmad Shah, who worked as an authorized Chief Educational Director (CEO), Baramulla, has now been connected to the Kashmir School Education Directorate, until the investigation, the official communiké said. The Joint Director-RAK was instructed to “make an investigation and present the report to the administration of the administration within 15 days”.
Mrs. ITOO said that the government is “committed to the well -being of common masses and employees”. “Anyone who indulges in a government without proper authority will face a proper step,” Mrs. IToo added.
The officer issued a warning to government teachers and employees of “abuse of social media”. He warned against sanctions, including censorship, a fine of up to a month of remuneration, detention of additions or promotion, reduce, restore losses, retirement, removal or release with disqualification from future employment, in case of any breach of the order.
“Bureaucracy must realize that there is a chosen government. Bureaucracy cannot run amok, as it has been in the last few years. It has been liable. It was a unilateral decision,” said IMRAN Nabi Na Na Dar.
The Order also came under criticism from the regional parties, including the opposition People’s Democratic Party.
