Senior Fast Bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar advocated Jasprit Bumhrah’s workload plan and said that most people do not understand what Pacer need to work under pressure and consistently perform in all formats. Bhuvneshware’s comments came after several numbers in cricket fraternity, including several former crickets, have questioned Bumhrah for selecting and selecting his tasks during a series of five tests in England.
It was decided before the start of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophyer that Jasprit Bumrah would only play three out of five tests. The main selector Ajit Agarkar clarified this when he announced an extended group for all important series. Yet Bumhrah faced criticism When he did not appear in the decisive series of referees – the fifth and last test in the oval. Bumrah took part in three tests, but by chance none of them won.
Through Bumhrah’s absence, India won the fifth and last test In the exciting surface of the 2-2 series. The young Indian party, led by SHUBMAN GILL, fought teeth and nails to draw a series. However, Bumhrah’s workload plan became a point of speaking and a rapid pitch received a flake for allegedly determination of a major series.
“I had no problem”
When he spoke to Mannendra about Cricket Stories podcast, Bhuvneshwar explained why he was disproportionate to expect Bumrah to play by whims and fantasies of those who follow from the outside.
“Given how many years Bumhrah played and competed in all formats, it is difficult for anyone to keep it. Given the type of bowling event, Bumrah has, injuries can happen with or anyone.
“If selectors know what they can offer and are comfortable with it, it is because they know that they can have a big impact in these three games. If a player does not have to play all five matches, but can contribute significantly in three, it should be acceptable – people do not always understand how difficult it is to play for so many years.
“There’s also pressure. If you want someone to play long, you have to handle it well. So I had no problem.”
Former captains Mohammad Azharuddin and Dilip Vengsarkar were among the strongest critics of Bumhrah’s workload plan. Vengsarkar, who spoke to the Tech Word News, asked why BCCi and Bumrah did not decide that IPL would decide to miss IPL instead of two tests in such an important series.
Bumrah took 14 goals in his three matches in Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Meanwhile, Mohammed Siraj admirably led the bowling attack and claimed 22 goals in five matches. Sihi ticked tirelessly and finished the whole series without a break.
According to media reports, Bumrah is expected to return to a competitive event in the Asia Cup T20, starting with September 9. It remains to find out whether it will be available for home tests in Indian home tests in the 2025-26 season. India faces Western India in a series of two tests starting on October 2, followed by South Africa in November.
