The inhabitants of Tumkunta, the management of the Commission for Common Action Commission (JAC), organized a protest against the proposed expansion project on the distribution of 200 feet along the Rahadari Rahadari on Tuesday and gathered with fears of mass displacement and insufficient compensation.
The protest included a demonstration of Rasta Roko, where the inhabitants blocked the road, held the labels and increased the slogans that condemned the government’s proposal to obtain land. Demonstrators said that this step would affect thousands of families and push out many of their homes.
President Jac Telukunta Satish Gupta, who led the protest, said the memorandum was presented to the vice -chairman of the collector of the land acquisition department at the Tumkunta Municipal Office. The memorandum demanded that the extension be reduced to 100 feet instead of the proposed 200 feet.
Jac pointed out the project of the main expansion of the 2023 roads, which was performed during the previous government, as a fairer model. In this case, landowners were compensated by land that the protesters claim to be replicated in Thumkunta.
