The inhabitants, including farmers and traders, in the village of Thimmammplettai and adjacent villages such as Kothakottai, Pullur, Periyankouppam and Samathurams, blocked the village land in the village from other areas on Thursday.
The inhabitants said that the village of Thimmammplettai is a border village at Tamil Nadu – Andhra Pradesh, which has more than 1,500 families, which are mostly dependent on breeding, cattle breeding and poultry breeding. The village also has at least six ponds and water canals that remain the main source of water for irrigation and home consumption. “We are not against anyone. The village has only a few acres of government land that could be used for public facilities such as schools, medical centers or female police stations from which the inhabitants will benefit. Income should find alternative places for displaced families than in our village.”
Paddy is the main crop in the village and adjacent villages. Farmers also cultivate green chili, brinjal, oily, green and mango grounds. Farmers said that government land in the village is used by farmers to graze cattle to supplement their income from agriculture. These plots are also used to store excess rainwater during the monsoon, preventing the flooding of houses and sections in the village.
Officials of income said that about 30 displaced families that interfered with the water basin in the city of Vaniyambadi and along the Palalar River were identified to assign free government land in the village to maintain their livelihood. According to standards, each displaced family will be on average capable of at least two cents of land (870 square feet) if it has no property in its names.

Currently, approximately 100 families have lived in Samathapturama since 2006 and each family has been occupying at least five cents of land. “The inhabitants also demanded the right path from the village to achieve the existing funeral terrain, especially during the monsoon. The leading officials will be familiar with the requests that will be submitted by the inhabitants,” said K. Sudhakar, Tahsildar, Vaniyambadi, Hindu.
Officials of income stated that out of a total of 15 hectares, three acres were identified to build dwellings for displaced families in the district. However, the inhabitants protested against him because the village should have a large government land for public services that will be built in the future.
On this background, the inhabitants blocked the key section connecting Tamil over with Andhra Pradesh. The two -hour block of roads influenced the traffic movement on the route before the revenue officials, and the Police Thimmammplettai reassured the disturbance of the population that the steps would be taken to abolish the idea of distributing government land into displaced families.
