The Infinix Note 50 series will be launched in Indonesia on March 3, and it is reportedly going to integrate the DeepSeek-R1 artificial intelligence (AI) model in the lineup. According to the report, the AI model will be integrated into the company’s local voice assistant Folax, adding new features to it. Consumer tech brands have revealed that the upcoming series will feature AI capabilities, but no details have been shared so far. It is worth noting that the smartphone series will successfully receive the Infinix Note 40 lineup, which was unveiled in April 2024.
The Infinix Note 50 series is said to have DeepSeek-R1 capabilities
The GSMARENA report claims that the upcoming Infinix Note 50 series will feature the capabilities of DeepSeek-R1, a reasoning-centric AI model. The publication cited an unnamed source that claims that the inference model will be integrated into Infinix’s Folax voice assistant. It is worth noting that all smartphones in the series are said to be able to use AI capabilities.
Infinix is reportedly using AI models to improve the functionality of the voice assistant, and in internal testing it is said to be “impressive”. The publication claims that A-Enhanced Folax is able to better understand contextual users’ requests and voice commands and is “significantly faster” when processing searches.
In addition, Infinix will report that it will officially announce the official announcement of the integration on Wednesday, February 26. The announcement can also include more information about the upcoming smartphone series. It is worth noting that Folax Voice Assistant first introduced the Infinix Zero X series in September 2021. Its functions like a typical voice assistant, which can be activated by long pressing the power button or summoning it with an activation phrase.
Last week, consumer technology brands announced that the Note 50 series will be launched in Indonesia on March 3. The company also teased the design of one of the models, showing a rectangular rear camera module with curved edges. The series has also been ridiculed for bringing AI capabilities, which may include DeepSeek-R1 integration.
The Infinix Note 50 Pro was reportedly found on the SDPPI certification website in Indonesia earlier this month, model X6855. This certification does not reveal any additional information about the specifications of the phone.
