
The Indian man was attacked and partially undressed in the Tallaght area in Dublin on Saturday evening (July 19), only three weeks after arriving in Ireland. According to The Irish Times, the man was focused on a group of individuals who also – falsely – falsely acting from inappropriate behavior around children. Local councilor Baby Perepadan of Fine Gael, who visited the victim, told Ireland independent that the man was still in “shock” and unable to speak much. “He doesn’t take any visitors,” he added, calling for an increased police presence in this area. “Small incidents like these often happen in Tallaght,” he said.
Sinn Féin TD for Dublin South-West, Sean Crowe, also condemned the incident and described it as “nasty and absolutely unacceptable”.
“Anyone who thinks that such a mindless, racist violence causes their community to lie safer and deceive anyone,” he told Irish independent. Crowe added that such attacks leave both newcomers and long -term residents who are afraid to go out. “This is not the first such attack in our area, but it must be the last,” he said.
