The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu after violent protests broke through the country, the volleyball team stuck in Nepal saved. Resources today said India that the embassy was in constant contact with the team and their safe transfer to a safe place. Government officials took quick steps after the appeal of TV presenter Ubasany Gill, who turned to social media for help.
The Upasana, who traveled to Nepal to host the volleyball league, created a detailed video of how players must be rescued from the hotel in Pokhara in the middle of the amplification of the protests. After receiving her request, the embassy quickly entered and moved the affected individual to a safe house in Kathmandu. Most team members have now returned to India while the arrangements are taking place to bring the rest back.
Protests in Nepal began this week in response to the ban on social media based on the government, but quickly escalated to extended demonstrations against corruption and non -printing. The riots eventually led to the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
Ubasana Gill described a tormenting escape from a violent crowd that focused on her hotel in Pokhara.
“My name is Upasana Gill and I send this video to Garg. I ask the Indian embassy to help us. All who can help, please help. I’m stuck here in Pokhara, Nepal,” she said in her video.
Described the attack:
“I came here to host the volleyball league. The hotel I stayed was burned. All my luggage and things were in my room. I was in the spa when people ran with big sticks. I hardly escape my life.”
Since then, the Indian Embassy has issued emergency numbers of help and its control room in Kathmandu has coordinated the support of the stuck Indian nationals across Nepal.
