New Delhi (India), 26 September (nor): Indian high -level delegation, led by trade minister and industrial Minister Piyush Goyal during a recent visit to the United States (USA), said on Friday in a number of productive discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral business contracts and investment links between the two countries and the Ministry of Industry.
The ministry added that the Minister organized key meetings with ambassador Jamieson Greer, the United States and Sergio Gor, the US Ambassador-Design in India.
The delegation led by the Minister of Commerce and Industry visited the United States from 22 to 24 September 2025.
During these discussions, both parties exchanged opinions on various aspects of the bilateral trade agreement (BTA). It was agreed to continue the contract to speed up the timely conclusions of the trade agreement that benefits both countries, the ministry added.
The statement added: “The delegation had constructive meetings with the US government on various aspects of the agreement. Both parties exchanged views on possible contours of the agreement and it was decided to continue the obligations in order to achieve the mutually beneficial trade agreement.”
“Meeting with businesses and investors evoked a positive reaction. Business leaders have imposed confidence in the Indian growth story and expressed their desire to intensify their business activities in India,” the ministry added.
In addition to interviews with US government officials, the Indian delegation also encountered important American companies and investors.
The interaction encountered a positive reaction because the leaders of the enterprises expressed strong confidence in the Indian growth trajectory and indicated their intention to deepen their investment and business activities in the Indian market.
Over the past few months, India and the US have negotiated a business agreement. US President Donald Trump announced 25 % of the Indian goods tariffs in July, although there were hopes for a temporary trade agreement that would otherwise help avoid increased tariffs.
A few days later, he ordered another 25 % tariff, which reached a total of 50 %, with the cited Indian continuing imports of Russian oil. 50 % of tariffs came into force on 27 August.
India has reservations about US demand for opening agricultural and dairy sectors. Agriculture and dairy products are critical and sensitive sectors for India that provide a livelihood of a large part of people.
India and the US have launched interviews about a fair, balanced and mutually beneficial bilateral trade agreement (BTA) in March this year to complete the first phase of the agreement by October to 2025 (or) (or)
