According to the latest data of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the total trade deficit of India is calculated in April both goods and services.
While the briefing media, the Minister of Trade Sunil Barthwal, also mentioned that the Indian total exports, including goods and services, were $ 824.9 billion in the years 2024-25, the highest, by 6% since 2023-24.
The export of goods increased by 9% to $ 38.49 billion in April 2025, while importing goods increased compared to the same month of last year to a significantly faster 19.1% to $ 64.91 billion.
Therefore, in April this year, a business trade deficit expanded to $ 26.4 billion compared to $ 19.19 billion last year.
The service sector, however, witnessed the opposite trend, exporting their leadership over imports. Exports of services to April, estimate, because the final data from the Indian reserve bank come with a monthly delay, increased by 17% in April 2025 to $ 35.31 billion.
On the other hand, the imports of services increased in April by only 4.6% to $ 17.54 billion, which increased the surplus of trade services to $ 17.77 billion.
