“Vision 2047”
A phrase that sounds like it belongs to a billboard in a sci-fi film, not in the middle of contemporary Indian football.
At a time when India becomes 100 as an independent nation, the AIFF wants the national team to rub their shoulders with the best Asian, compete at the highest level and support the pulsating ecosystem of football. It all sounds great.
But here’s the thing: you can’t start building a future when the presence feels as if running on adhesive tapes and crossing your fingers.
Indian Super League? Rather as “in a suspended limb”
Indian Super League glittering, made for television, child poster of modern Indian football-is on the ice.
The 2025–26 season is currently suspended. Why? Because AIFF and FSDL, People who helped revive ISL are locked in a chaotic struggle for power control. The dispute now sits at the Supreme Court, which is as far from the football field as you can get.
So where does it leave clubs? In a complete limb.
Coaches cannot plan. Players cannot prepare. The preliminary season is unofficial exercises. Foreign signatures are already withdrawing. And the most critical fans – Lifeblood League remains more questions than accessories.
The league, which was supposed to stabilize Indian football, now feels like a passenger waiting for a conductor to decide which track he will take.
New season, no coach
Just a few weeks after the Isl stopped, the Indian national team of men found themselves in another known situation: Bezhlavý.
Manolo Mrquez, the Spanish coach then brought after Igor Stimuc, left After India couldn’t get into the third round of the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers. However, the actual blow came from this home defeat to Hong Kong-0-2 in Calcuttus-now endangers the Indian path to the AFC Asian Cup 2027.
So here we are again. No coach, unplanned any matches and no official word about what the plan looks like for the rest of the year.
It is hard to sell a dream 2047 when you do not know who is in charge of 2025.
Players, Suspered Careers and Frozen Futures
Indian footballers are not just athletes today, they survived uncertainty.
Imagine that the 23 -year -old center has an Isl season escape. You are fit, you are ready and then silence. Your club has not announced the pre -season season. There is no clarity in the plan.
This is a generation that Vision 2047 is to encourage. Instead, however, they receive an empty calendar and a lot of delayed promises.
And in this silence, career momentum of cracks will slip.
A vision without a structure is just a wishful wish
To be fair, the Vision 2047 has all the right boxes – the development of local level, infrastructure, international exhibition, female football and talent roads.
But here’s the problem: this kind of ambition requires consistency. And Indian football is something other than consistent right now.
The leagues are on a break. The decision on the federation swings like a pendulum. Setting the national team is reset every few months. And instead of stable progress, it seems that the sport is stuck in the feedback of the crisis, scramble, repetition.
Let’s repair now before we build the next 20 years
Look, dreaming is not a big problem. It is necessary. Every football nation that rose was done on the back of the long -term vision. But before you are chasing the next two decades, you may get the next two seasons.
Sort the structure of the league. Communicate with clubs. Appoint a coach with a plan. Players give some certainty. Give fans something to stick to.
Because no one requires miracles. Just for Indian football to stop getting your own way.
