Lalitha Hospital, Guntur, has identified World Brain Day with a awareness program called “Brain Health for All Age Categories”, which underlines the need to protect the health of the brain in all life stages. Dr. P. Vijaya, head of the Department of Neuroscience, Lalitha Hospital, stressed that brain disorders are the main cause of disability and the second main cause of death around the world.
“Since the development of the fetus to old age, neurological comfort must be a priority. More than 1 billion people live with neurological disorders around the world,” she said. It emphasized the importance of preventive measures such as refilling folic acid, vaccination, regular control and prevention of falls.
The program also represented knowledge from higher neurologists and neurosurgeons under conditions such as stroke, migraine, dementia, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease and traumatic brain injuries. Dr. Vijaya suggested a balanced diet, exercise, sleep, stress management and social interaction to maintain brain health.
