When starvation activists Ladakh Sonam Wangchuk entered the seventh day, more than a hundred people from the distant villages in the region bordering with China joined the protest in the light.
The Apex Le (laboratory) body, on behalf of Mr. Wangchuk, said he decided to maintain the “apolitical” movement and the members of the congress party associated with the movement were asked to resign.
Cherring Dorjay Lakruk, President of the powerful Ladakh Buddhist Association (Lab) and co -founder of the laboratory, said that the protest would continue, even if the Ministry of the Interior of the Union renewed interviews with a group of civil society. He said that the requirements for institutional guarantees such as integration into the sixth schedule of the Constitution (tribal status) and statehood will remain.
Thupstan Chhewang, a former member of the Party Party Bharatiya Janat, who represented the laboratory in interviews with the Ministry, but resigned to “individual agendas and competing interests” in June, decided to return to the group, Lakruk said.
Development comes before the elections for the Council for the Development of the Autonomous Hill Ladakh, which is expected in October-Listove this year.
“Chhewang, who resigned a few days ago, is back with the laboratory. It is one of the highest leaders, while Sonam Wangchuk is an activist,” said Mr. Lakruk Hindu.
After Ladakh became the territory of trade unions in 2019, after the special position of Jamm and Kashmir according to Article 370 of the Constitution and the division of the former state, the Group of Civil Society in Ladak protest several times that require constitutional guarantees such as statehood and integration into the sixth plan to preserve land and cultural opportunities.
After several rounds of interviews, the President of the Murmu 3. June announced four regulations for the territory of the Union of Ladakhu, defined new policies on reservation, languages, residences and the composition of the hopping councils for Ladakh. The Regulation is preparing a trip for 85% reservation for resident Ladakhis in government jobs.
“We decided to remain neutral during the upcoming elections. The government has sent feelings that the Ministry of the Interior will restore interviews if Sonam Wangchuk ends with hunger strike. More and more people are joining protests, about 100 villagers arrived from other areas and join hunger.”
In January 2023, after a continuous campaign of the Kargil and Lie group, the government created a high -performance HPC (HPC) headed by Nityanand Rai Foreign Affairs to deal with their requirements. HPC last met 27 May. Members met the Minister of the Interior of the Union AMIT Shah in his residence the following day.
