Karnataka of the State Human Rights Commission, led by T. Sham Bhat, launched an investigation into an incident of the meeting in which the accused was killed in the murder of a smaller girl after being shot by the police when he tried to escape after assault.
On Monday he visited the team from Mr. Bhat, a member of SK Vantigodi and the deputy police director Sudheer M. Hege, as well as the place where the meeting took place.
In an interview with Prespersons, Mr. Bhatt said that on the basis of a special report sent by the police commissioner Hubballi-Dharwad, they registered the case in police shooting and examine the question of whether human rights were violated.
Mr. Bhat explained that after the confirmation that there was no case registered in connection with the meeting of the National Human Rights Commission, they registered the case and asked for it.
He further explained that the investigation of the SHRC and the CID investigation will continue separately and will seek a message from CID if necessary.
“We have a human rights cell headed by an officer of the rank of another CEO. The investigation has been assigned by representatives of the police director who will investigate the meeting and submit the report.
Mr. Bhatt said they had just visited the Girl’s House and the meeting place and received a message from the police inspector Kirana Kumar, who is the complainant in the case of the meeting.
“We will call a sub-inspector of the police, who shot on the accused to hear her version. We were told that she was released from the hospital, but only had to report to service. It may take us two months to ask and submit to the state government,” he said.
When answering Mr. Vantigodi, he explained that he was asking about the case because there was a loss of life and the question of life. “Everyone has the right to life and no one can rip the right to life. In this case, the accused man has lost his life, and therefore the case has been registered and we ask whether his right to life has been taken,” he said.
He clarified that at this point they did not cause any conclusions, because they have just begun to ask about the case and, on the basis of a report to be submitted by a representative of the police cell, will take further steps.
To ask if the SHRC asks the murder of a minor girl, Mr. Bhat explained that the question of questioning would only arise when the police fail to and investigate it. In this case, however, the police fulfilled their duty and their (SHRC) role is only to examine the question of the meeting.
