The Human Development Report, Sustainable Plan will be ready in early July

Mandya Zilla Panchayat has directed all ministries to submit verified and evidence-based data for the preparation of District Human Development Report-2025 and District Integrated and Sustainable Development Plan-2031, with the reports to be completed by the first week of July.

Director General KR Nandini, who chaired a review meeting of sectoral sub-committees at the Zilla Panchayat in Mandya on Monday, said there should be no incomplete information or data gaps in the reports and directed the departments to provide statistics backed by official records.

She noted that several indicators in the draft Human Development Report contained missing information and zero-valued items. Departments have been asked to re-examine and verify the numbers before resubmitting.

Officials have been directed to collect all pending information within a week to facilitate timely completion of reports.

As part of the District Integrated and Sustainable Development Plan-2031, the district has decided to conduct case studies in key sectors such as health, education, livelihood, economic activities and child development.

A special research study was also designed on thiamine-responsive acute pulmonary hypertension of early childhood (TRAPHEI), a condition associated with thiamine (vitamin B1) deficiency that can cause severe pulmonary hypertension and cardiac complications in infants. The study will examine its prevalence, risk factors, preventive measures and public health impacts, particularly in relation to infant mortality and maternal and child nutrition in the district, according to a press release.
