At the 2026 WAN-IFRA Digital Media South Asia Awards, The Hindu won gold in the category of “Best AI-Driven News Product, Format or Strategy” for its data story on unusual deletion patterns in Bihar’s Special Intensive Review (SIR). The Hindu also won Silver for “Best in Countering Disinformation”.
“Hindu Explanation” Newsletter. won bronze in the “Best Reporter” category. The paper also won bronze awards in the categories of “Best Marketing Campaign for a News Brand”, “Best Use of Audio” and “Best Readership Return”.
