Last week, the High Court in Delhi canceled approximately 300 petitions filed by the Ministry of Defense, which questioned the awarding of pensions affected by soldiers.
July 1, July 1, rejected the Union Government Call to the Armed Forces approved by the Armed Forces (AFT), which ordered pensions to affect soldiers with disabilities who approached the tribunal.
“Financial Support”
The court noted that the purpose of granting pension involvement of the Indian armed forces staff aims to provide the necessary financial support to those who have suffered disabilities or illness as a result of the service conditions during their service.
He added that the health pension is not an act of generosity, but justified and only by the recognition of the victims that the soldiers can withstand, which are manifested in the form of disability/disorders suffered during their military service.

“Such a pension ensures that a soldier who suffers injuries or disabilities due to the conditions of services is not left without support and is able to live with financial security and dignity. It is a measure that supports the state’s responsibility to its soldiers who served the nation with courage and devotion,” he said.
In the Supreme Court’s request, the Union has stated that the health of the soldiers who moved backwards was not attributed or deteriorated by military service and therefore is not entitled to pension. In some cases, the Union also stated that the onset of the disability occurred when they were published on a peace station.

The court noted that even if they are not on the front or in hard areas, the soldiers are aware that the threat is never far away.
“This environment, where the danger is a permanent reality for its peers and can become their own, creates at any moment the persistent state of mental and emotional tension that cannot be overlooked. Military service, whether in a peaceful place or operational zones, naturally carries stress that can predetermine the staff of strength to health such as hypertension.
