The High Court in Calcutions on Friday (June 20, 2025) limited the government of West Bengal from the distribution of fees to Group C and D employees, whose services were terminated by the Supreme Court 3 April 2025.
“As an interim measure, the state is limited to proving any effect and/or other effect of the infected system within 26 September 2025 or other commands, depending on what is before,” said Amrita Sinha.
The Supreme Court order 3. April canceled the appointment of 25,752 employees who included teachers and employees of Group C and D in state schools. While the top court on April 17 allowed teachers to continue until 31 December until new recruitment was made, there was no word about the fate of Group C and D employees.
Major Minister Mamata Baerjee 26 announced that Group C and D employees will receive a fee of 25,000 and 20,000 GBP per month. Since the court has canceled the appointment, these employees cannot provide any services to the state.
Judge Sinha noted in the order that, according to the contested system, the state does not make any provisions to secure work and allows the government to continue the regime “will easily support fraudulent activities, cheating and corruption”.
“This regime also does not provide any public assistance to any unemployed candidate. On the contrary, the state seems to provide financial assistance to candidates whose employment was terminated by the court order, which was the result of cheating,” the order said.
The High Court added that the state would be obliged to make a payment to persons for providing their state service and unjustly pay to persons who do not serve the state, but either sit at home or deal with elsewhere, do not withdraw the court.
The honorary was handed over after the approval of the state cabinet. Representatives of Group C and Group D staff said they wanted permanent jobs and not royalties from the government of West Bengal. Although the state government has issued a notice of new recruitment of teachers, there is no word about new job opportunities for jobs in category C and Group D.
“They will not help people and will not let anyone else help.
The leader of the opposition of Suvend Adhikari welcomed the order and said that the state government indulges in illegality by paying fees to those who offer no services.
