The Guntur police trace the three missing boys to New Delhi and connect with the families

Chebrol police in Guntur district rescued three missing boys who had traveled to New Delhi after leaving their homes and reunited them safely with their parents on Tuesday (June 23, 2026).

According to the police, on June 21, Shaik Aashiya of Vejendla village filed a complaint at the Chebrol police station saying that her 13-year-old son, Shaik Jameer Ahmed, was missing. During investigation, the police found that two other boys, Rayala Bharat (12) of Suddapalli village and Thupakula Venkata Gopi (15) of Gundavaram village had also left their homes on June 20.

Guntur District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal said that special teams comprising Inspector Ponnur Rural Circle, Sub-Inspector Chebrol and others have been formed.

Police examined CCTV footage, analyzed technical evidence, examined mobile phone records, located locations and conducted inquiries at various locations to trace the boys’ movements. Through mobile phone tracking and other technical inputs, investigators found that the boys had traveled to New Delhi.

The Chebrola police coordinated with Delhi police authorities and successfully located the boy. They were taken into safe custody and taken back to Guntur district on June 23 before being handed over to their parents.

On this occasion, police officers advised parents to closely monitor their children’s activities and maintain awareness of where and with whom they go. They also urged the public to immediately inform the nearest police station whenever any child goes missing.

SP Vakul Jindal lauded the officers and personnel involved in tracing the boys and ensuring their safe return within a short time.
