In thoothuku, gram Sabha, chairman of the district collector K. Eambahavath in the village of Avanlatham in the Kovilpatti block, emphasized the importance of water and education of children. The meeting was arranged on the occasion of World Water Day.
During the meeting, Mr. Eambahavath quoted the two -string of Trukkural “Neerindri Amaiyath Ulag”, who stressed that water is necessary for life. He urged people to actively participate in water protection. He explained this year’s World Water Day of the UN, “preservation of glaciers”. He recommended people to save rainwater, repaired broken pipes and prevent water contamination.
Mr. Eambahavath encouraged people to plant more trees and work to improve the water level. He stressed the importance of education that ensured that all children in the village attended school.
At the meeting, the collector checked the reports of the expenditure and audit of the public fund in the village. He ensured that government schemes, including initiatives in clean drinking water, MGNGS and other social care programs, achieve people. In addition, he emphasized the risks of heat -related diseases and urged the villagers to take preventive measures.

In the Kanniyakumari district, the collector of R. Alagumeen was attended by a gram of Sabha, which took place in the village of Beemanagari in Thovallai Block. At the meeting, she assessed the implementation of various programs, including the open Defatation Free Plus Model Village, Jal Jeevan Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission and others.
She called on the villages to plant more trees, explaining the initiative of the state government to establish mini forests throughout the state to alleviate the risk of climate change.
Mrs. Algumena emphasized the rich water source in the Kanniyakumari district and contrasted with dry areas where people have to walk several km to apply drinking water. She urged residents to preserve these water resources for future generations.
