A total of 426 students from St. Philomena’s College has completed titles in the field of art, science and trade and received certificates at the graduation celebrations on Tuesday.
B. Chandrashekara, regional joint director of the Ministry of College Education, Mysur, delivered a graduation day. He called on students to perceive education not only as a knowledge of knowledge, but as a process of transformation. Dr. Chandrashekara said that education without transformation was not useful and stressed that in the modern world, knowledge was no longer enough. In addition to knowledge and skills, the need for hours was the right attitude, he added.
While students are well equipped with knowledge and gained different skills to navigate in different situations, he warned that without the right attributes, these attributes may not bring meaningful results. “Communication skills, interpersonal relationships, crisis skills and stress management skills are essential,” he added, stressed that academic excellence alone, without practical exposure, can make real life students ineffective.
Dr. Chandrashekara said there was no lack of data at the current information age, but the actual challenge consisted of identifying and using relevant information. He called on students to look at their textbooks and curriculum and devote learning not only for exams, but also prepared for the challenges that preceded.
As for the increasingly competitive nature of all professional disciplines, Dr. Chandrashekara said that while the competition was strict and inevitable, students must not be intimidated. Opportunities were abundant in various industries and it was up to the students to prepare.
He stated that he recorded various career options that employment and civil service employment and other councils opened the door of a wide range of opportunities in public service and administration.
