The Telangana government is all set to launch a massive public awareness program called Praja Palana – Pragathi Pranalika, marking the third time the government will engage directly with citizens under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy since assuming office.
Soon after coming to power, the government conducted “Praja Palana Gram Sabhas and Ward Sabhas” from 28 December 2023 to 6 January 2024, which provided a platform for citizens to petition for social programs and raise local issues.
The initiative was repeated for the second time during the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025, when gram and section sabhas were again organized for three whole days.
Through these two rounds of direct engagement, the government interacted with people at the local level, collected petitions from eligible beneficiaries, and assessed the issues facing communities. The requests received during these meetings formed the basis for the implementation of several welfare programs.
The government has now prepared a 99-day action plan to be implemented from March 6 to June 12, leading to Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2. The program will cover all departments and will be implemented at five levels, from villages to the state level.
As part of the initiative, all government offices from the village level to the state headquarters will conduct cleanliness checks and clearance of backlogs from March 6. District collectors, union secretaries and senior administrative officers will be actively involved in the programme.
Apart from gram sabhas and ward sabhas, special programs will be organized in mandal headquarters, cities, constituencies and district centres. The department will set up special stalls and exhibitions to inform people about government schemes and services.
The government tries to use these meetings to explain the benefits provided through social programs. The program will also emphasize reforms in the field of education and health. Plans to modernize state schools and hospitals in line with emerging needs will be explained to the public. The focus will be on creating 100 Telangana public schools, Indiramma houses, promoting renewable energy, especially solar energy, and how farmers can generate income through it.
Another key part of the 99-day plan will be job creation. Job fairs will be organized in almost all districts. The program will also recognize the achievements of Indira Mahila Shakti groups and identify new business opportunities for women.
The 99-day program will be implemented in ten thematic weeks, each of which will focus on a specific sector.
