
On Wednesday, July 23, the Central Government was established by the National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC), led by the Secretary of the Cabinet for solving any situation where the main disaster had national consequences.
In the announcement of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MHA), it stated that the performance of the powers granted by subsection (2) of section 8a of the 2005 Disasters Act (53 of 2005) was the Central Government of the NCMC.
The creation of the National Crisis Administration Committee (NCMC) comes days after the persistent monsoon rains caused large floods, landslides in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Manipur, among other things.
Who is in the NCMC?
While the Cabinet secretary will be chairman, NCMC members will consist of Minister of Defense, Secretary of Defense (coordination), Secretariat of the Cabinet and Head and Head of Department, National Catastrophe Office, informed the PTI.
The Committee is the highlight for dealing with the situation resulting from the great disaster, which has national consequences, the announcement said.
The role of ncmc
NCMC chairman may co -opt any expert or officer either from a central government or state government or any organization, depending on the nature of the crisis to help the committee in fulfilling its functions in the threatening situation of the disaster, the situation or disability.
