M. Maleshwar Rao, Chief Commissioner for Greater Bengalur (GBA), ordered officials and suppliers on Monday to speed up potholes and complete the ongoing road work in its limits, covering 1,648 km of main roads.
The Commissioner stressed that 61 roads, covering 104 km, were listed on white between 2016 and 2024.
Suppliers were directed during these works to ensure public security, especially in places where the pipeline is laid, side drainage and underground drainage systems are developed, and kause water pipes are moved by installing barricades, using careful tape and immediate debris.
In addition, blacktopping 182 roads covering 349 km at the price of the CRORE 694 GBP, with the date of November 2025. Rao ordered officials to ensure proper sorting to prevent water stagnation on newly laid roads.
The Commissioner reminded the suppliers that 178 roads totaling 401 km are still in the period of liability for defect (DLP). They are obliged to repair the potholes and damage to the surface in terms that have failed which GBA will repair and deduct costs. Of the 188 roads that completed their DLP, 62 are in poor condition and will be admitted for immediate repairs.
To strengthen liability, officials were told to promote annual maintenance contracts and monitor the cleanliness of sidewalks, shoulders and boards.
Mr. Rao also called for rapid completion of work on 11 high -density corridors (46 km) and ordered the authorities to clean the remains near the construction site. The new centralized software system will monitor road projects, suppliers and potholes for better coordination.
