The former main main conservator of the forest (PCCF) BK Singh appealed to the chief Minister Siddaramaiah to immediately stop the award of three acres of land in the swamp grass (Hadlus) in Nagarahole and Tiger Reserve in Kodag.
Mr. Singh, in a letter to Mr. Siddaramaiaha, who is also the chairman of the State Council for Wild Plans, said that the granting of land in Hadlus, Nagarahole, will lead to a serious conflict of human and Tistin in Virajpet Taluk.
In the letter Mr. Singh said he had trustworthy information that the survey was hastily conducted to provide uniform three acres of land in marshy pastures to all applicants, directly in the main area of the National Park.
He said he informed about the PCCF and the main nature guards and pointed out this “completely illegal activity” in the National Park.
“Officers of income and social security department work under pressure and act against the Supreme Court orders. Furthermore, the provisions of the Forest Rights Act are violated and must be prevented immediately. The law is recognized by those who were in the occupation of 13 December 2005;
