On Wednesday (October 1, 2025), a 31 -year -old member of the Maoists in Chhattisgarh in Chhattisgarh was murdered on Wednesday (October 1, 2025), the policeman said. Prime facie, the victim was murdered by the Maoists who accused him of being a police informant, the officer added.
The police superintendent (Bijapur) Jitendra Yadav said that Madkam Bhima, the resident of the Pujarikanker village under the jurisdiction of the USUR police station, was murdered by Maoists who caused sharpness injuries. He added that Bhima, who in the past was a military member of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), was arrested by the Warangal Police in Telangana and filed in prison between year and a half and two years for his connection with the Maoists.
“After coming out of prison, he returned to his village and lived with his family as he interrupted all the ties with the Maoists,” he said, adding that he had stayed in the village for at least three months.

In the incident, Mr. Yadav said that the verification revealed that around 21:00 the Maoists came to the house of Madkam Bhima, accused him of being an informant, pulled him out of the house and murdered him by causing injury to the sharp weapons. “Based on the report, the case was registered at the USUR police station and the necessary legal measures are taking place,” he said.
On Wednesday’s incident, the Maoists in the Bastar region were killed by 38 civilians in 2025 according to government data. Mr. Yadav said that 18 civilians were killed in the Bijapor district, one of the seven districts affected by the Naxal region.
103 Maoists give up
In other development, also in Bijapur, up to 103 Maoists gave up on Thursday. Of these, 49 bears a combined reward of 1.06 GBP.
The Inspector of the General Police (Bastar scope) added that a total of 970 naxality cadres voluntarily surrendered to the extent of Bastar so far in 2025.
