
In the industrial park designed on the country, which previously belonged to the Travancore Rayons in Perumbavoor near Kochi, only industries will be established, said the Minister of Industry P. Rajeeve only the industrial industry. The electronic park is one of the devices planned on the spot that has remained unused since Travancore Rayons was officially completed about three decades ago.
“The development of Land Rayons will change the face of Kerala,” said the Minister, who visited the place last week after it was taken over by the government development agency Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (KINFRA).
Travancore Rayons, founded in 1945, had its famous days at the beginning of the 80s and earlier, as the first manufacturer of yarn of the viscosal fibers based on cellulose in the country. In 1984 it was closed, although it was briefly reopened after the initial closure, the unit has not been revived since then.
Currently, 30 hectares of 68 hectares have been transferred to Kinfra. The construction work will begin as soon as the government’s approval and the bid procedure process are received.
The development of an industrial park will have to comply with the regulations that require a compensatory zone because the soil is located near Periyar. About 18 hectares will be available for industrial development after the provisions for infrastructure such as roads are adopted.
Key units in phase I. It is estimated that the introduction of the first phase will include expenditures of approximately 22 Crore, artificial intelligence, robotics, Ayurvedic products and food processing. The second phase of the industrial park will include research centers, incubation centers for start-ups, plug-and-play settings, nanotechnology-based units and consumer electronics.
The main plan for the whole park is prepared based on the availability of approximately 44.17 acres of total land in the old Rayons complex. The Minister stated that the soil in the complex cannot be assigned to any other purpose. Investors who participated in the Global Summit Keral Global Summit also expressed interest in the use of land available for the proposed complex, added.
