The forest department cleaned 300 hectares of affected land in the reserve forest Muthugadahalli in the Sanctuary of Wildlife Sanctuary in Bukkapatny Chinkar in the Sub-Division of the Tiptur district in the Tumacur district.
This includes 209 hectares of forests as well as land provided to the horticultural department by forest department.
Given to Mysore King
Minister of the Eshwar B. Khandre said on Thursday that Maharaja of Mysore had given the ground in survey No. 46 in Muthugadahalli Ambarple Forest Department in 1926 under the Mysore Forest Act.
“However, this forest land was illegally assigned to some people. Some others intervened. The High Court was registered a case and an order was issued to rescue the forest,” the Minister said.
The complaint was also filed with Lokayukta after the revenue officials did not cancel the illegal sanction.
Lokat’s instructions
The Minister said that according to Lokayukta’s instructions, the land was registered in the name of the forest department and the intervention was removed.
The Encroachment Drive was led under the supervision of the main conservator of the Hassan-Tumacur forest with the support of the police.
