The Indian Navy boats Ins Tir, Ins Sharardul and Indian Coast Guard ICGS Sarathi, including the first training squadron (1TS), arrived in Port Victoria, Seychel, Monday (September 1, 2025) as part of their long range in the Southwest Indian Ocean region.
The visiting squadron was awarded to the ceremonial welcome by the Seychelles defense forces (SDF), which underlined the strong naval partnership between the two nations. The ceremonial guard and the band of the Indian Navy were also on board the squadron.
During the port call, the 1TS officer, Captain Tijo K. Joseph, called the key dignitaries of the Seychel government, higher SDF officials and the Indian High Commission. The visit will include professional exchanges, cross -deck visits and joint training with SDF staff.
To strengthen cultural ties, the program includes seating yoga, performance of maritime band, sports accessories and social offspring initiatives.
This means the third call of the Indian Navy port in Seychelles in 2025, reflecting the permanent focus of the new dilli on maritime cooperation within its Mahasagar (mutual and holistic progress for security and growth across regions) for the Indian Ocean region.
