Meanwhile, several companies have asked employees who are on vacation or outside America to return to the next 24 hours when the announcement will come into force from 12:01 in the morning 21 September.
Industry Body Nasscom said the US move would have an impact on Indian technology services.
The industrial body noted that a one -day term creates considerable uncertainty for companies, professionals and students around the world.
“Policy changes on this scale are best introduced with adequate transitional periods, allowing organizations and individuals effectively plan and minimize disruption.”
“Even if we check the finer details of the order, adjustments to this nature may potentially affect the innovation ecosystem of the American and wider economies of employment. This will also affect Indian nationals who will work for global and Indian companies.
The apex body also stated that it will continue to monitor the development, participate in the part of the industry on the possible consequences and seek further clarity of the process of resignation, which is to be awarded by the Minister of DHS.

In a post on X in New York, based in New York, the Immigration Prosecutor Cyrus Mehta said, “H-1B holders who are outside the US for business or holidays will get stuck if they get on September 21st on midnight.
“There may still be a way of H-1B visa holder in India to arrive in California before midnight on September 21, 2025,” Mehta added.
