On Tuesday (1 July 2025), Sikkim (1 July 2025) imposed the first dose of 39 people who returned from the pilgrimage to Kailash Mansarovar in Tibet, China.
Each pilgrim was introduced with Khada, a traditional ceremonial scarf and a certificate of participation in the 22 -day journey by Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) and the state Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation.
The certificate of participation was also submitted to two liaison officers and doctors who accompanied 33 pilgrims from the gangtok to the road of Kailash Mansarovar.
“For many, it remains a dream to get to Kailash Mansarovar, one of the most sacred Indians pilgrims. Your successful journey will be for other inspirations that will experience one life,” said CS, another Sikkim Secretary, who is in charge of tourism and civil aviation.
Rajendra CHETRI, STDC CEO, said the Minister for External Affairs chose the company as a nodal agency that in 2015 managed the Indian leg Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
“We managed Yatra for five years until 2019, but it was suspended after the Covid-19 pandemic and the tension of the border with China. The first dose of pilgrims aged 19 and 69 is scheduled to relieve Sikkim on Wednesday and fly to Delhi through Bagdograph Airport in West Bengal. Buses that drop them to Baghdograph will pick up the fourth dose of tourists.
One of the tourists, Mumbai blame Gupta, told his experience. “The feeling that he was at Lord Shiva’s dwelling is indescribable, but as the first dose of Indian tourists we had responsibility on our shoulders – to set the tone with the right attitude and behavior in a foreign country,” he said.
