The first dose of students who completed class 12 from the government model school in Vallanad in the district of thoothuku, cleaned various entry examinations at the national level so far carried out for the academic year 2025-26. 74 students from this pioneering dose work ambitiously to secure seats in prestigious institutions across the country.
Many students are waiting for advice, while others have started the admission process and continue to try to explore the best possible possibilities of higher education.
The Government Model School in Toothuku was inaugurated in 2023. All 74 students admitted to the XI class have now successfully completed their higher secondary education with some even ensuring acceptance before the public examination. Especially students of S. Abivarshini and Srither secured their chairs at the university of the University in Bengalur.

“My father is a daily wage painter and studying at such a premiere institution seemed unimaginable. However, the model school allowed this to be ease. They provided accommodation, food and all necessary facilities. All we have to do is study,” he said.
He said, “I have been selected for a fully funded scholarship where the institution will take care of accommodation, food and provide laptops for educational purposes.”
Similarly, four students were selected for Jee (Advanced) from school. A. Balamurugan, one of the selected school students, comes from a modest background. His mother Valliammal is a daily worker. Balamurugan said his mother was not even aware of input tests and institutions and added that after completing his university studies he sought to clean up the UPSC test.
In addition, students were selected for the NIFT, the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management, the Admission Law test, the National Architecture Test, the Indian Culinary Institute and the university joint entrance test for Iit-Bombay design.
Ganjenntthiran, headmaster, said that in addition to these courses, students appeared on other entrance exams and still apply for several other examinations, including all Indian forensic scientific initial tests. He added that together with the students, teachers have always trained on the current curriculum and national level programs to lead students to choose their careers.
The collector of the district of thoothuku K. Eambahavath said that students excel in the selected path, whether it be engineering, medicine, law or other streams. “The biggest challenge is to persuade parents to admit their children to a model school after choosing,” he said.
He said that the area provided excellent equipment, including quality food, reference material and Internet equipment 24×7.
