The first consignment of organic compost from Kochi Corporation in Brahmapuram to Dubai was marked on Monday 21 April, which meant a significant step in trying to sustainable civic waste management. Mayor M. Anilkucar described the shipment.
The compost, produced through the ecological process using the Black Soldier Fly larvae (BSF), is exported to the Dubai SSK Blending LLC for its vertical agricultural initiative. On this occasion, Mr. Anilkucar stressed that Brahmapuram no longer drew the crisis of waste management.
“It is not a brahmapuram who once made subtitles for incorrect reasons, but rather hope, change and global impact. From Hell in the Brahmapuram plant to export high quality compost to Dubai, Kochi shows the world of what responsible administration and innovation,” he said.

The compost is produced by Fabbco Bio Cycle PVT LTD, which in the last and half years manages 50 tonnes of food waste a day. Through the innovative use of larvae BSF devices, it creates 10 tons of compost every day, now finds a global value as a natural fertilizer.
