On Monday (May 5, 2025), the fire broke out on the Mahakal Lok corridor in the Mahakaleshwar Campus in Ujjain Mahakaleshwar in Ujjain Madhya Pradesh, said officials and added that no injuries were reported.
Collector Ujjain Roshan Kumar Singh told Hindu that the fire began in the battery system in the room for control of pollution Madhya Pradesh (MPPCB) established to monitor the air quality around the temple.
“The fire offer of temple sites immediately reached the place. There were two more offers on the spot,” he said, adding that the fire was under control in about 10 minutes.
Given that the scene of the accident was 200 meters from the main temple, the devotion was not affected, he said.
While Prima-Facie the cause of the fire seemed to be a short circuit, the investigation was carried out to determine the same.
Ujjain Superintendent of Police, City, Rahul Dehmukh said that adequate force was immediately mobilized from the surrounding areas to ensure the safety of devotees and employees.
“The movement of devoted and darshan is smoothly without any obstacle. There is no need to panic about the incident,” he added.
