Meghalaya on Sunday on Sunday arrested another member of the armed group of suspicious Bangladeshi intruders who attacked the village in the district of Southwest Khasi Hills on 9 August.
The district police said Mubarak Hussain was caught 24 hours after four more gang members were arrested on Saturday – MEFUS Rehman (35), Yangir Alom (25), Meruphur Rahman (32) and Saem Hussain (30).
Police took some of these men that beat the villagers to the local health center for treatment. Of the five, Meruphur is reportedly a police constant in Bangladesh.
The police superintendent of the district of B. Jyrw said that the motive of their intrusion would be known during the interrogation after custody from the court.
The locals said nine men, armed with pistols and sharp weapons, forced themselves to the store in the village of Rongdangai near the Bangladesh border soon on Saturday. Balsrang A. Marak, who slept inside the store, hostages and took him to the new village of Rongdangai.
“The victim was able to free himself when he was taken and ran to a house in the new village of Rongdangai and locked the door from the inside. However, Miscreants were chased, hit the door from the outside and fired some bikes,” Jyrwa said.
Miscreants managed to get into the house and attack Mr. Marak before leaving.
A few hours later, the police received information from the quarry owner that some armed miscreants were transferred to his country near Khonjoy.
Miscreants escaped soon after the police patrol party arrived and fired several rounds. Miscreants left a barbed wire cutter, a screwdriver, a small knife, a Bangladesh police identification card, three wireless phones, 10 Bangladeshi monetary notes in total TAKA 769, 500 Indian currency notes and three microtress explosions.
