The Farmers group is demanding cancellation of the land allotted to the TDP office at Noonepalle Market Yard in Nandyal
Farmers and civil society organizations on Friday (June 26, 2026) demanded cancellation of allotment of two acres in Noonepalle Market Yard for construction of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office and called for protection of Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) at Nandyal from non-agricultural use.
The demand was made at a program organized by the Rayalaseema Irrigation Conservation Committee, where leaders presented a motivational song titled ‘society is a temple…people are God’, written and composed by committee president Bojja Dasaratha Ramireddy.
The leaders said on the occasion that the government has a responsibility to protect and strengthen public institutions established for farmers’ welfare, rural development and agricultural research. They expressed concern over the allotment of valuable land at Noonepalle Market Yard, which they said should instead be used to expand warehousing, marketing, banking and other services for farmers.
They also opposed the continued functioning of the temporary office of the Collectorate in the premises of the Regional Agricultural Research Station (RARS) at Nandyal. They said the arrangement was disruptive to agricultural research and services to farmers, adding that land reserved for farmer-oriented public institutions should not be used for other purposes.
They urged the government to shift the temporary office of the Collectorate from the RARS campus to an alternative location and restore the full functioning of the agricultural research institution.
They said the campaign was not directed against any particular political party, but was a democratic movement aimed at protecting public property, protecting farmers’ interests and strengthening public institutions. They appealed to farmers’ organizations, people’s groups, democratic forces and political parties to unite in protecting public property.
Among those who participated in the program were committee vice-chairmen Yerram Shankar Reddy and Eruva Ramachandra Reddy and others.
