In the middle of the ongoing battle for the “real heritage” of KM Mani, the competing Congress fraction of Keraral on Wednesday they held separate functions to commemorate the sixth anniversary of the patriarch’s death.
Jose K. Mani-Keral Congress (M) (Kc (M)) observed this opportunity with “km mani Sangamam” in Thirunakkar in Kottayam and honored their founder leader. The day began in the church of St. Tomas in Pala, attended by Mani’s family members, including his wife Kuttiyamma and Son, Mr. Mani, who is also chairman of KC (M). When paying respect, they were joined by Minister Rosha Augustine and other close collaborators. After the service, the group visited Mani’s tomb to pray.
Floral honor
The memory event in Thirunakkara began with Mr. Mani’s lighting a solemn lamp and before the portrait of the late leader ranked floral honors. The program was closed until 13:00, including the speeches of Mr. Augustin, the party of the Vice -President N. Jayaraj and Thomas Chazhikadana.
The gathering has witnessed the participation of a wide range of political and cultural personalities, including the Indian Communist Party (Marxist) of TR Raghunathan, the Minister of the District Secretary of the Communist Party of the India VB Bin and other leaders from the left democratic front (LDF). The Thirunakkara event was the only main public program organized by KC (M).
Criticizes LDF
Meanwhile, the competing fraction led by PJ Joseph watched the anniversary of the “Daily class toiling” as a tribute to Mani. Party chairman Mr. Joseph laid a flower wreath on Mani’s tomb in Pala early in the morning and welcomed the late leader as a champion of farmers and disadvantaged. He also criticized the LDF, which includes KC (m) to implement policies that damage the very workers’ communities that the late leader promoted.
