The exhumation of the man’s body was ordered due to alleged medical negligence
Sub-divisional magistrate Taliparamba has ordered the exhumation of the body of a young man from Iriveri near Chakkarakkal following allegations that negligence on the part of doctors led to his death at a hospital in Bengaluru.
The order was issued based on an application filed by the family of the deceased. Shahnavas body will be exhumed on July 7 and a second post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death. The family claims that Shahnavas died after undergoing surgery for piles at Bengaluru’s Victoria Government Hospital and accused the hospital of medical negligence. His wife had earlier lodged a complaint following which the Bengaluru police registered a case against the hospital authorities.
The second autopsy will be performed by a team of experts. The report is expected to help establish the exact cause of death and will be submitted to the investigative team as part of the ongoing investigation.
