South of India Kennel Club (SIKC), Ooty, is organizing its 138th and 139th Memorial Dog Show from Saturday, May 9, 2026, a press release said. The show will start with the dog obedience test from Friday, May 8.
The 104th obedience test and special shows of Dachsund, Beagle and Indian breeds will be held on the grounds of Government Arts College, Udhagamandalam on Friday, a press release said. The 138th and 139th Memorial Dog Shows will be held on May 9th and 10th.
The obedience test is judged by Philip Butt and all breed shows Yulia Olkova from Kazakhstan, Victor Lobakin from Azerbaijan and Gragam Kerr from Australia. Special exhibitions are judged by Preetam and Quique Boza Alpheratz from Spain, the report said.
The memorial show is to be held in memory of Dharma, “a senior and oldest member of SIKC and an animal lover,” SIKC said.
This year the show has 435 all-breed show entries from over 55 different breeds and a record 55 entries in the special Indian Breeds competition.
“The president of the club, Mrs. Rajini Krishnamurthy, with the support of the exhibition committee, is making all arrangements to make the show a grand success. We have asked the collector to distribute the prizes,” the report added.
