“File 468” was among the documents allegedly deleted after they were released by the US Department of Justice on December 19 as part of the “Epstein Files”.
The blacking out of many of the documents, combined with control over their release by officials in President Donald Trump’s administration, has fueled allegations of high-level secrecy.
What did file 468 contain?
Reportedly, “File 468” was one of the files that showed US President Donald Trump.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee pointed to the missing picture of Trump in a post on X, writing: “What else is being covered up? We need transparency for the American public.”
A verified X-handler called ‘Oversight Dems’ shared the image on the social media platform and claimed: “This photo, file 468, from the Epstein files involving Donald Trump has now apparently been removed from the DOJ release.”
Several reports claimed that the missing files, which were available on Friday and were no longer accessible on Saturday, included images of paintings depicting nude women and one showing a series of photographs along a credenza and in drawers.
In that picture, inside a drawer among other photos, was a photo of Trump along with Epstein, Melania Trump and Epstein’s longtime associate Ghislaine Maxwell, the AP reported.
The US DOJ is responding
The Justice Department on Saturday did not respond to questions about why the files disappeared, but said in a post on X that “photographs and other materials will continue to be reviewed and edited in accordance with the law with great care as we receive more information.”
In a post on Sunday, December 21, the ministry said: “Photos and other materials will continue to be reviewed and edited in accordance with the law with great care as we receive more information.”
now missing. It was one of the few files that showed Trump. They deleted it, which seems to be the clearest sign of a cover-up yet.
