Petr Kvitov made a heartbreaking departure from Wimbledon and said goodbye to the Major grass court with the defeat of Emma Navarro from the United States. Last month Kvitova – Wimbledon champion in 2011 and 2014 – announced her decision to retire at the end of the US Open, giving this final performance at the All England Club.
On Tuesday, Navarro advanced to the second round to SW19 with a commanding victory of 6-3, 6-1. Kvitova, a surrender of the participant, thought about his respected memories in Wimbledon, where she raised the trophy twice.

“To have another chance to play here again, it means a lot to me. This place has the best memories I could wish for. I never dreamed of winning Wimbledon and I won it twice, so that’s something very, very special,” Kvitova said after the match.
“I will miss Wimbledon. I will miss tennis, I will miss fans, but I am also ready for the next chapter in my life,” Kvitova added.
When Kvitova left the arena, the crowd lifted on his feet and put her permanent ovation. She acknowledged a gesture with a wave and thanked the fans for their unwavering support.
In February, Kvitov returned to a professional tennis on the WTA 250 ATX Open in Austin, Texas after a 17 -month -old mother of motherhood after the birth of her son Peter in July 2024.
As far as Navarro is concerned, it will continue to face Veronica Kudermet, which sailed around the Chinese Zhu Lin with a victory of 6-3, 6-2.
