The Economic Survey 2025-2026, tabled in Parliament earlier this week, is an irrefutable proof of Telangana’s all-round progress, economic performance, transparency in governance and effectiveness of the people’s government under Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Saturday about what he termed a disinformation campaign.
The survey is not just a compilation of numbers, it is a comprehensive progress report that shows the development of Telangana to the world, the minister said, adding that he has definitely smashed the propaganda to tarnish the Telangana brand and question the integrity of the government.
“By officially recognizing our revolutionary reforms, technology-driven government, anti-corruption measures and commitment to transparency and good governance, the survey vividly represents the story of Telangana Rising,” he said.
Noting that the state government has demonstrated through its actions that development is not rhetoric but improving the quality of life of the people, he said, “we will examine the best practices cited from other states, problems identified in the survey and all constructive recommendations and take appropriate action.
Mr. Sridhar Babu said that Telangana is not dependent only on central grants or loans. The survey highlights that the state generates significant revenue through its own tax sources, demonstrating strong fiscal capacity and transparent financial management. “We are creating wealth, investing in well-being and laying a strong foundation for future generations,” he said.
A statement by the minister’s office on the survey prepared by the Economic Affairs Department of the Union Finance Ministry said the document reaffirms Telangana’s emergence as a hub of Global Capability Centers (GCC) and progress as a global innovation hub. The state has once again demonstrated its strength in the IT and services sector. It is one of the four states that contribute nearly 40% of India’s services output – Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu being the others. In the emerging Gen-AI startup ecosystem, Telangana is fourth nationally with 7% share. In competition with Bengaluru and Delhi, Hyderabad has emerged as the preferred destination for startups, according to the survey.
The survey lauded the industrial reforms carried out in the state and noted the reduction in women’s working hours, which enabled them to work safely in various sectors and in all shifts, including 24/7 operations, Mr. Sridhar Babu said while talking about the safety and welfare of women and the Telangana government’s youth employment initiatives.
Stating that the pharmaceutical clusters have gained recognition, he said, “our vision is not to limit Hyderabad to IT only, but to develop it as a global hub across sectors. He also cited how the survey takes note of various initiatives in Telangana, including ‘Smart Tribal Farming’, which is bringing technology to remote tribal regions, empowering marginal farmers and promoting inclusive economic growth in Bhuhar. registration departments, we have brought an unprecedented transparency. The Center has officially recognized the digital protection of landowners’ rights under our government,” he said.
