When he went to the message containing a link to the APK file and clicked it open to add his mobile phone number and vehicle data, he was asked to pay 1 ₹ for confirmation. Once he paid £ 1, a total of 66,000 GBP was deducted from his savings account.
The police are now trying to trace the accused through the details of the transaction. They recommended people not to click on any APK files or links they receive from random numbers. This file APK can also use hackers to record malicious files leading to potential cyber threats of data and unauthorized transactions, warned.
The police asked people to pay traffic violations only through justified links and recommended that they not enjoy any random messages. The traffic department will not send reports to individuals who are applying for fines, the police officer added.
