The driver of the actor Bobby Simha was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and encountered seven vehicles and injured at least three people, on Friday (April 18, 2025) in Alanduro.
Police sources said the actor was not present in the car at the time of the accident. S. Pushparaj, 39, who was driving a car, Mercedes Benz, transported the father of Mr. Simha from his residence in Manapakkam to the ekkaduthangal metro station.
He returned home after he dropped his father Simha in Ekkaduthangal, and as he descended the Kathipara class separator towards the Alandur metro station, the driver lost control of the vehicle due to speed and thrust seven cars, three two rounds and two Autorickshaws. Three people were injured, including a woman, and were treated in the Royapetah government hospital.
The police said the driver was under the influence of alcohol and the test showed that it had the content/concentration of alcohol in the blood of 400 milligrams of alcohol per 100 ml of blood.
Pushparaj was arrested for charging the rash and tried to cause murder, except for alcohol control. After being submitted before the court, he was transferred to his judicial custody.
