Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) B. Shivdhar Reddy on Saturday ordered a manhunt for the suspect in the murder of Constable E. Pramod, who was serving at the Central Crime Station (CCS), Nizamabad.
The constable, aged 42, was allegedly stabbed to death on the night of October 17 by an accused of stealing a vehicle and ripping off a chain.
The DGP expressed grief over the death of Pramod and described him as a sincere and dedicated officer. Soon after receiving information that the suspect, identified as Sheikh Riyad, was absconding, DGP Reddy instructed Nizamabad Police Commissioner P. Sai Chaitanya to form special teams to track him down and arrest him without delay.
He also directed Multi Zone-I IGP Chandrasekhar Reddy to visit the crime scene and supervise the investigation. The DGP further asked the officers to visit the constable’s family and ensure that all necessary support is provided to them.
