The Deputy CM asks the officials to resolve the outstanding issues of Singareni workers

Deputy Chief Minister M. Bhatti Vikramarka has taken a number of key decisions aimed at solving the long-standing problems and issues faced by Singareni coal mine workers and their families.
The Minister held a high-level review meeting with Singareni Ministers D. Sridhar Babu and G. Vivek Venkataswamy, MLAs K. Premsagar Rao, Matta Ragamayi, Koram Kanakayya, Maloth Ramdas Naik, Payam Venkateswarlu, K. Sabasivah Ra Rajana Rao and S. Vinod Venkataswamy, State Minimum Wages Advisory Committee Chairman Janak Prasad and senior Singareni officials here on Tuesday.
During the meeting, representatives of the public brought to the attention of the Deputy Minister several questions regarding Singareni workers and requirements related to regional development. The Deputy Minister ordered the authorities to complete all pending dependent employment orders, approximately 250 to 300, including related legal processes, within 15 days and forward the orders to eligible applicants.
Regarding the pending cases related to changes in the names of dependent employees, about 170 cases, the Deputy Minister told the officials to adopt a humane approach and take appropriate decisions based on the recommendations of the Singareni Officers Committee formed for the purpose.
Regarding the workers applying for medical disability, he said that they should not be forced to travel all the way to Kothagudem and said that a designated medical board meeting would be held every month in all hospitals in Singareni area so that local medical tests could be conducted for as many workers as possible and the medical disability process could be expedited.
Regarding the reinstatement of dismissed workers who did not attend to their duties during the COVID-19 period or due to other local circumstances, he suggested that they be given a one-time reinstatement option.
Regarding houses for eligible beneficiaries, Mr. Vikramarka said, of the 5,774 acres of land allotted by the state government, Singareni said 4,500 acres were distributed as houses for the poor during the previous Congress government in united Andhra Pradesh.
The Deputy Chief Minister directed the authorities to speed up the process of distribution of houses to the eligible beneficiaries in the remaining 1,250 acres.
