The High Court in Delhi on Wednesday (April 30, 2025) was looking for answers from the Indian Boxing Federation and the Center after the plaintiff tried to appoint a returning officer to make his elections.
Justice Mini Pushkarna issued a notification of the Federation and Center of Application submitted by the Delhi Amateur Boxing Association and published a matter in August.
The application is part of a part of the petition of the amateur association in Dilli against the Federation decision, which only mandates the elected members of its associated state units, will be entitled to represent their relevant states in the elections.
In the application, the petitioner stated that the former returning officer, RK Gauba left the judiciary, resigned from the office of 14th April.
Former President of the Indian Federation of Boxing, which is an attacking candidate, tried to postpone the elections and tried to name the “compatible returning officer”, he said.
The application stated that under the Sports Code, the returning officer had to be independent and, despite the order of Himachal, the High Court and observers appointed by the world’s boxing federation and the center, BFI did not make elections an impartial and timely way.
On March 19, the court remained the decision of the Federation on March 7 to allow only the elected members of the associated state troops to represent its relevant states in the upcoming elections in the sports body.
The Delhi amateur boxing association moved the High Court after the final list of election universities approved the then returning officer who missed two names sent – Rohit Jainendra Jain and Neeri Kant Bhatt based on the fact that they were “ineligible” on the basis of King 7 March.
The BFI elections, originally scheduled for March 28, were postponed.
